Sleep at all Ages & Stages

Sleep and Bedding for your stage of life - work out what sleep habits you need for your life stage.

The reality is: your sleep will change and look different depending on your age, illness, life stage, stress levels. You can work with this - find practical ways to improve sleep in these stages.

There is a trend towards hand wringing and sensationalizing sleep. Books, podcast, articles, research abound to tell you have to get the PERFECT sleep.

Everyone it seems is either getting not enough sleep, or too much. I've included a bunch of articles at the end of this blog – they’re worth a read if sleep is something you’re focused on.

But here is the thing – we’ve found here #GoKindly that being realistic and pragmatic about sleep is the best approach.

For Sleep Health Week 2025 here are our real, unfiltered and honest thoughts on sleep:

It changes over time. You can expect that your sleep will wax and wane depending on what stage of life/age you’re at, illness, parenting, stress, work routines. Accepting that, working with those changes in your life to get the best sleep and rest for THAT PHASE of your life is what we think is important. We create products for all stages of life and sleep phases.

Get the fundamentals right – obviously. Find the right pillow (you know, we’ve got that pillow quiz to help you), find the right mattress, sleep on good linen. All that stuff.

You can also work out a sleep plan that works for you and your stage of sleep/life. Its ok not to sleep 8 hours a night – Our Cofounder Laura is evidence of that. She lives with chronic pain and CPTSD – sleeps lightly, deals with nightmares and sweats. Our Cofounder David apparently snores (something he minimizes, but his partner absolutely does not)

Managing insomnia, illness, stress – they’re practical realities in a modern world.

Laura found a sleep coach, who set her up with a sleep plan was useful. Is it worth the investment – She’d say yes, but also you could follow our blogs or use google to establish a similar sleep plan.

Happy Sleep Health Week 2025, here’s to another year of getting good zzzz’s, and finding practical and affordable sleep advice.
